About us

Ékaza

Rooted in Materials, Heritage & Contemporary Artistry

Ékaza is a curatorial platform exploring material, craftsmanship, and cultural influence through sculptural works, collectible objects, and contemporary artistry.

Blending heritage with contemporary expression, Ékaza brings together works shaped through texture, form, and material exploration. From rare handcrafted objects and historically rooted pieces to contemporary creations by emerging artists, every work is selected for its artistic presence, craftsmanship, and story.

Ékaza means “bridge” in the Fang language, a reflection of our vision to connect materials, cultures, artists, and collectors across borders and generations.

The Heart Behind Ékaza

Born from a deep connection to Gabon’s natural materials, textures, and traditions, Ékaza exists to celebrate both cultural heritage and contemporary creative expression.

Our collection includes sourced objects from Gabon alongside contemporary works created both locally and internationally by artists exploring craftsmanship, materiality, and cultural inspiration in new ways. Some pieces are rooted in tradition, others in experimentation, but all are united by a strong sense of artistry, texture, and intention.

At Ékaza, we are particularly drawn to sculptural and material-led practices, works shaped through wood, stone, glass, fiber, metal, and mixed materials that highlight the dialogue between craftsmanship and contemporary artistry.

Each object is curated with care, authenticity, and respect for its origin, process, and creative voice.

Our Vision

  • Honor materials, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage through contemporary artistic expression

  • Support emerging and underrepresented artists seeking international visibility

  • Curate objects and artworks that carry texture, emotion, identity, and story

  • Encourage cultural dialogue through sculptural works and material exploration

  • Build a platform where heritage and contemporary artistry can exist side by side

Ékaza is more than a collection of objects. It is a space for discovery, material expression, and cultural connection, where craftsmanship, artistry, and heritage meet through form and texture.
